YAAY
finished a GREAT story for Kungahälla Medievaldays :) and thereby also also have a very natural "chapter 2" for next year :)

feeling very accomplished right now ;P

I also finished all the hazzles of the "ansökan om tillstånd".. the permit for the festival.. a LOT of written material and a lot of maps. Most of the maps I did last year but I made them neater this year. I got plenty of compliments for them last year from "tillståndsenheten".. the.. permit.. person ;D so I thought I'd make him even happier this year :)

on another note..
hats for the whole family cut out (black wool) and started the assembly.. going very well...

will hopefully finish a slighty cooler dress for T2 today as well :)

today was also all about T1 getting her braices.. or her partial braces.. 3 little shiny objects on the right side of her mouth (on the teeth that is..) to prevent them from ending up like mine..
and.. the best of all (according to her).. they had PINK rubberbands ;P
she can't stop smiling right now and that is always a good thing <3

fond the "skirt" part for my 1500s/1600s/1700s/1800s jacket :) hmm.. finish it for the 18th C picknick next weekend?
still thinking of making the girls dresses.. or perhaps leave them at home with dear old dad..?
I did find the lt blue fabric I bought for T1s 18th c dress many years ago..
do I have the time?

tomorrow is the big meeting with all the creative ppl around Kungahälla Medievaldays.. and also Js brother and his family are coming the same day and staying 'til monday.. Sunday we're going to Liseberg ;) Gardeningdays! and if you have an IKEA-card you can go 2 adults for the price of 1 :)
so.. I leave them at their fun stuff and I go to my fin stuff.. when I'm done with all the plants and stuff I'll hand T2 over to daddy and take a few rides with T1.. just so that I'll be a god mother.. not that I find any kind of joy in it at all ;D

Double Wars coming up.. should have started this looooong ago when there was still plenty of time but no..

the things needed for the wee one and the wee wee one won't take long to make and/or finish.. so I won't worry about them..

Gotvik celebrates 15 years as an SCA shire and we will have a party party during friday on DW. Should I make a miparti black/blue with the silvery fleur de lys buttons I found? I could also use it during Kungahälla Medieval days..
or I could just adjust the buttons over the bust on my black dress and use that again this year and make the blue version of my Holbein dress (since I have finished the green version)

the blue version will have the more rounded neck and the full circle skirt.. and the detachable sleeves..
will I have the time to finish it?

thinking about making a mi-parti for Tuva. She's 8 now and it would look great on her.. but then again.. the time..

so.. to dress or not to dress?
if worse comes to worst (wurst?) I do have dresses to last me through DW.. could just finish my shift with the smocking.. and perhaps a new apron that hasn't been through cooking over open fire for the last 7 years.. ;D but it's nice and soft now..
also thinking about a "Birgitta hätta" for Kungahälla to go with my black dress and then a open french hood instead of a .."struthätta"..

sorry... no brainsubstance left.. too occupied with my sore wrist that's probably containing an infection that's growing nastier :(
can't use voltaren or the voltaren T since I'm still breastfeeding.. hoping that the ipren I bought today will suffice..

can't sew that fast with a sore wrist..

what I want to do:
*tell "some" people to get stuffed and go on with my life
*tell some people to get stuffed and spend the summer working on Gotland..
*work out things with people I want to get stuffed and go back to work slightly more empowered but working less and thus earning less
*win a million dollars (or get them some how..) so that I can get a year of and learn how to breathe again..

what gives me energy:
*my wonderful family <3
*being more active in Gotvik/SCA again and planning for a Barony
*spring time!
*helping my aunt out on the farm and my granny with her house
*talking and spending time with friends
*planning upcoming events and dresses to go with them
*helping friends move (oddly enough)

what takes my energy:
*people involving me in their hardships with others, several times a day.. (and most through my maternity leave)
*people who only hear bad things and never speak of the good
*people blaming their shortcomings on others
*worrying about me and my family's future if I tell "some" people to get stuffed..
*wanting to take this year off for our huge event and worrying if it's possible..

I want my life less complicated..

oupps.. forgot to continue writing again ;P

well.. since february 17th..
photos of finish tiny toddler dress and my dress (Tuva didn't stand still enough for me to capture her in her new very PURPLE dress) can be found here: http://aelfwynne.zoomin.se under "Holbein" or latest added pics..

WinterGames was VERY fun! loooong drive tough.. and mostly rugrats like Tindra.. but a lot of interesting discussions about children's activities in the SCA.. so much so that I started a group on facebook when I got home "Children of Drachenwald". I also took up the task of building a website for Drachenwald MoY.. or rebuilding perhaps is the term..

weekend after wintergames (march 14th) the whole family went to the celebration of St Egon. LOVELY! and LOVELY PIE! and lunch was superb! [info]druda what can I say? you are brilliant in the kitchen! <3

on sunday it was time for our annual meeting and we got a new seneschal, exchequer (you try spelling it!), archer marshal (didn't have that before), fighting marshal, gold key, vice seneshal (didn't have that before), herold, chirurgeon, chronicler & vice chronicler (didn't have that before)... LOTS of new people..

I'm still chatelaine though :)
and a brand new girl, Desirée, emailed me right after the meeting saying she wanted to becme my deputy (have plans of ending my chatelaine years next year.. I've been chatelaine for over 6 years now..). This year my focus will be demos and putting together information for newcomers.. like a welcome wagon so to speak

anyway.. when I got home I was all wound up and I started with updating SKAM (members listing online) with the new board and all the new officers.. then started updating the officers listing on our webpage.. then started thinking of earlier discussions about it not being so easy to find things. so I started sketching on that..
then it was time for another meeting about Kungahälla Medievaldays http://www.medeltidsdagarna.se
I made scones with whipped cream and jam.. but as a helthy alternative I also places cottage cheese and alfa alfa on the table :)
very nice evening

and then I continued with the webpage and also on monday..
now I'm rather pleased.. have some new articles to write for the webpage.. that I guess can go in the Dauphine..(and also some for the Dragon's Tail).. some nibs here and there to complete but all in all I'm happy..

we are putting together a work group to get to terms with the new site we want to build so that officers can update their own pages and so on..
I would still be admin but a lot of the work would be up to the officers themselves..

oh.. and yesterday I had my first "theory" (teori) lesson at the driving school! *wohooo*
My goal is to have that little plastic card in my hand before I get back to work on May 1st.. but we'll see.. would be excellent not having to use public transport 1 hour every day one way.. but drive for 20 minutes one way instead.. :)

making a smaller teeny tiny toddler version of my Green Holbein dress from the scraps I have left over :)

cuuuuute!

only have detachable sleeves and some decorations left.. think I'll hold off on the decorations 'til I know I've finished with the rest of the projects that are more pressing at the moment

attached the sleeves but had to do some adjustments so that the decoration on the sleeves matched the decorations on the bodice better

like this

but it looks SO MUCH BETTER! *proud of it*

and I just made the pattern for my goller and cut out the fabric :)
question:
should I make the fur-lined one or the linen-lined one before winter games?
the one with fur will for obvious reasons take longer to sew.. and I still haven't started on the children's new dresses..

and how shall I close it..? want it closed all the way to keep me as warm as possible.. but would prefer a hidden solution.. I think..
suggestions?

got breakfast in bed this morning :) very nice

yesterday in short:
J got a looooong over due meeting at a place that oddly enough is situated in Frölunda industrial area..
I had to go to a tourism meeting at work first but left early to go with him

it was REALLY good and took 1 hour (normally they give him 15min and then send him off to the pharmacy..)
she even asked me questions which was good :) Iäm normally never allowed in at all..
and there will be at least 3 more meetings just like this and she would like for me to accompany all of them :)

have a really good feeling about this!

Tuva had a really hard time falling asleep the night before because she was terrified they would lock him up and throw away the key.. and I had a feeling J was worried about that too (hence me tagging along)
but it went great and I got souvlaki for lunch after wards :)

Tuva went with my sister to my grandma i Halmstad earlier the same morning and after some short thinking J and I decided to drive down too. I drove down and he drove up.
We were just there for a few hours but in that time she got to see us some, J fixed her gate and some other stuff and she got to see my sewing skills (I brought parts of my Holbein-project)

[info]bippimalin didn't give me much home work.. J got some though ;D fixing his doublet that's looked better.. he can't help but tare things..

I got a small assignment though.. shortening my "to do"-list before Winter games..
and I HAVE :D
went from 121 things to do to 94 :) and some f the projects I made les complicated too!
HA!

and then I added some new ones I had forgotten.. ;P
but still.. I DID reduce it first!

finished my Holbein-sleeves
more pics at my zoomin page if this pic doesn't work:

very happy with them :)

finished with:
*tracing a new dress pattern (from the dress since the old pattern has gone walk-about)
*filled in the misshapp on the front (missed a small piece of fabric there..)
*cut out all the orange silk for the decoration of the sleeves
*cut out most of the dark brown wool for the decoration of the sleeves..
*continued on my calculations with my very detailed task-list and came to the conclution that I need to finish at least 5 tasks on that list per day in order to be finished with it all before Winter games..

think I have to review the list and remove some stuff..
and also J can help me with some of the girls' stuff like linnen dresses and other "safe" things *lol*
no seriously.. he really can sew :)
but right now he's too busy making SCA-shields for half of Nordmark in aeroplane aluminium.. and needs to get the car tip top before the loooooooooong drive to Winter games..

right now I can't event think about all the things that needs to be fixed with his attire.. he wears his shirts out very quickly.. and the doublet doesn't look like it's in one piece anymore eather.. well.. that's for him to worry about right now and for me to worry about AFTER I finish with mine and the girls'..

tomorrow (or today.. depends on how you look at it) [info]bippimalin is coming and the menue says peasoup and panncakes (it is after all thursday)
my home work was to trace a new pattern and that I have done already :)

SKAM
am SO enjoying spending time at home with two sick children.. and SKAM (Nordmark's members list) wich for Gotvik's part was redicculously out of date :(

now i've atleast updated the information for the board and the officers..
and also sent an email to all the expired memberships in due time before the annual meeting..

also informed them of the posibility by voting in the barony-question with the aid of a pamflet i created.. in case they can't attend the meeting that is..

it is a really important issue for Gotvik and it is imperrel(?) that as many memers as possible vote. preferably all..

what else strikes me as I go though SKAM is that almost no one has updated their information when it comes to marrying someone and changing their alst name, changed e-mailadress, phone numer and so on.. I wonder why that is.. and how can we remind people better so that they actually DO update..?

I updated my own information and the rest of the boards.. hmm.. but I think I forgot Malin's new address.. and perhaps someone elses too..?

if you see this and you have changed your info.. log in!

today.. I finally replaced my 4th broken down pedometer (?)..stegräknare..
and had a really nice walk with Milo and her son Hannes (although Tindra and Hannes slept most of the walk)

on the way I also found out that the cheep shoes bought at skopunkten.. were leaking.. left foot all wet and cold :(
didn't find any replacements at Frölunda Torg either :( so the r´search will continue another day

productive day with [info]bippimalin yesterday although I didn't complete all my homework (could for the life of me find my Holbein-pattern and Tuva didnät stand still long enough for me to do a toille on her..)

[info]bippimalin made toille on Tuva and then helped me in the wedge-department for my sleeves on the Holbein.. so they are now extended and complete (finished them last night)
making a new sleeve-pattern and bodice pattern from the dress (home work for next week)

I've also started on a list with all the garbs due for differente dates and all details in the making (cut out, sew hem a.s.o.)
it is a long list but I think since I've broken it up in so many s´teps it will feel more like I actually AM doing progress (hopefully every day) when I can cross things off

been REALLY tired lately and not knowing why.. Tindra has been a bit extra crancy as well and we've both fallen asleep on the sofa quite a lot..

my sewing homework:

TODAY
remove sleeve enough on the Holbein dress so that a wedge can be placed to ensure movement

take Tuva's measurements (make a toille if I have the time)

make a pattern for Tindra with the help of a size 86 dress + take her measurements

DONE
find the box of wool that I can't find at home (probably in our extra storage room) and also lining fabric + cotton for the toilles

TOMORROW
find my old Holbein pattern so that we can improve it and redo it with a rounded neck

yesterday we were at our storage room to get the fabrics (for my sewing home work) and clean up after the water leak and after the dead rat we found last week..

only to find out that the bastard wasn't alone..

I know you love yor rats [info]unz3rbr3chlich but these ones are a monstrousety! :(

besides the rat poop EVERYWHERE (besides the rat vomit from the dead rat that it managed to spred ALL OVER the floor..) they had EATEN my green velvet gown! and snuggled in my sheep skin vest! (smelled like nobody's business..)

the more boxes and stuff I cleared the more poop and destruction I found..

well.. at least now we've started with the clearing up that we've talked about for quite some time now.. we're going back after the partner meeting in Kungälv tomorrow..
threw out 3 large garbage bags and removed most of the yucky stuff after the dead rat.. really smelled like.. well.. like a rat died there..

will contact the board today and tell them a thing or two.. we checked the photos we took after the leak and low and behold.. NO POOP! so they had to have gotten in there while they were checking the leak afterwards..

I'm just SO disgusted when I think about it.. what I don't want to think about is what else I will find destroyed when I continue checking.. they had there nest right next to my mother's paintings.. will be hecking on them tomorrow

so far I've thrown:
all our extra pillows and blankets
my green dress
sheep skin vest
1 lantern (svinblåselykta) it tasted good..
one fabric box (used as a toilet..)
several books (they tasted good too..)
and other stuff that they had chewd themselves through

someone is really kicking our ass for not getting our ass off the wagon earlier when it comes to sorting out things in our storage..

well.. at least now it will be done.. and more stuff than what was originally planned will be thrown out.. wich is probably a good thing ;P

today I called our ensurance company to report what was lost in the leak. once I was connected to the right place (after accidently being disconnected 2 times) I met a very nice lady who was supernice :)
she'll email me the form and tell me where I can email our photos as well :)

[info]bippimalin is coming today after she quits school and I'm trying to prepare..

printed some pics (mostly 16th c german) and also some "manikins" that I can raw on (and also for Tuva to draw what she likes on).

also made a list of the events we are going to (and some of the ones I hope to attend) and what sixes the kids will be in during those events so that I perhaps, for ONCE, can plan ahead.. not everything has to be done last minute I'm told!?

Constance once said that she made Isabelle's first dresses by tracing one of her "normal" dresses, so I'll try and get that done today as well.. (just have to find the box with the larger baby clothes).

Since Iäve made PLENTY of baptism dresses I have very good patterns for the coif and little boots.

then out with the box containing my green Holbein dress and the extra fabric. Have to redo the sleeves some what to be able to move my arms at all ;D and alsothinking of replacing the malfunctioning lacing with larger pant hooks (they work great in my 18th and 19th C garb)
But I haven't decided yet.. think I'll try one more thing with the lacing first.

other than that I'm onlymissing some decorative bits on the arms and the bottom hem.. and then it's actually finished..

since it is cold I will also make a "mini cloak" (I'm sure it has a fancy pancy name) and try some head gear. I love the red hats like those on Cranach's saxon princesses.

don't know if I can pull off the bun-on-the-head type of German/Holbein-look..

printing out pics (mosstly from my 16th C galleries) for tomorrow's big ass-kicking-sewing-date with [info]bippimalin

have some favourites but I have to be able to finish them and also all the rest I need to do before wintergames.. and also put together the children's activities

speaking of that I got a lovely call from [info]chigrima yesterday asking if I could take on the children's activities for Medieval week at Styringheim. I will gladly accept but first have to talk it over with the family and see if I can get the time off from work (I get off the maternity leave may 1st and my boss leaves for her maternity eave almost the same time..) if wer have someone to fill in for me at work we will be going to Styringheim and I'll fix a little somethin' somethin' for the kids :)

Being such a large part of Nordmark they really should have their own MoY.. it really isn't that hard and not about babysitting. MoY was created to insure that children had something to do at all the local events.

(MoY = Minister of Ýouth. I hold that office for the Kingdom of Drachenwald)

had a most EXCELLENT time last night at [info]bippimalin in her oriental boudoir :)
her new apartment really reflects her in a way the house never did.. I never could get my finger on it but I realized it as soon as I put my foot inside her new door
oriental indeed... and I am so happy she liked my little gift and the food was GREAT and the dessert was.. well.. heaven.. log time since I had crumbled pie..
to be honest.. I could just as easily eat a plate with just crumbles.. the apple slices are just for decorations ;P

and she made Tuva look through her books and choose a (princess)dress she wants and also for Tindra..
you really are the most shiny of all the shiny ppl I know my darlingest darling bippi :)

today started of in small chaos..
Tindra woke me up at 4am.. and then again at 5.. so I didn't hear my alarm at all when it went off at 7.. I woke up at 8 when Jacob called to tell me he was 2 minutes away..
    SHIT! SURGEON APPOINTMENT!

I managed to fix breakfast to go, put clothes on myself, the toddler (and first change her nappy) and Tuva and get out the door in 8 minutes! Wohoo!
We were in place with 5 minutes to spare :)
we accidently went to the children's emergency room first and signed in for the appointment (it said EMERGENCY SURGEON CLINICAL on the door so who was I to know that I had to look for the "SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS"sign waaaay off on the right..). The nurse there REALLY should considering getting another job.. at the morgue or so.. where she doesn't have to be a ppl person..

anyway.. following her instructions lead us to a LOVELY nurse at the "scheduled appointments" front desk.. and the attending nurse was even better :)
all the gushing blood made it difficult to remove the old wrapper so she had to soak Tuva's hand for a while. it looked good but larger and with huuge stitches.. but still good considering the circumstances
new rapper (only around the middle finger this time) and off we were.. I was quite surpriced.. we were in and out in 45 minutes!

off home to do some homework with Tuva and then off to "BVC" with Tindra. She's still growing as was expected :)

I started making sketches of this springs garb-to-be.. we'll see how it goes.. Bippi is coming over wednesday and helping with the butt-kicking-task ;P
I'm making "apple pork" (äpplefläsk) and freshly home made bread :)
    should be good

    well..

"office"party yeesterday.. after dinner here (indian.. and not that good..) they all decided we'd go to Stenungsbadet..

looking back.. I should have stayed at the hostel.. getting some sewing and sleep done..

things are REALLY different in "hicksville" compared to Göteborg *sorry to all I have offended that I know but this has NOTHING to do with what I think of you personally*

    1. almost no one had a good sence of how much they can drink and get away with (including som ine our party as well)
    2. they had a "dans band" most of the night.. did I tell you I am alergic to that?
    3. half the people were extremely drunk and in their 40's-50's.. and trying to pic up ppl (including me) in my 20's-30's.. spilling their drinks, smashing their glasses and so on
    4. people get more desperate than normal at 2 am when it's

    shall I continue..?

let's just sum it up that it was nothing like I expected after hearing about it for 5 years..

started working at 8 after a whooping 3,5 hours of sleep.. I am a wreck.. lots of cleaning today and our course with Putte starts at 11 and finishes 3 hours later.. thinking of getting some sleep between 10-11 (I close the reception at 10) and make the hung over ppl fix their own breakfast.. since they're getting 3 more hours of sleep than me anyway..

the kitchen this morning looks like a bomb went of.. so does the diningroom.. and that's from the ppl working here.. always nice to know..

strange thing partying sober.. you remember so much more.. they thought I was a bit bored yesterday because I wasn't drunk.. but when I went out with my friends in göteborg (who aren't chainsmokers) to a really nice place I had a great time! and I was sober then too! but most of those friends aren't so focused on getting hammerd or picking up.. well.. I'll stop here with the rant..

I should have stayed behind and gotten other things done

amazing.. TWO updates in ONE month ;P

I most be bored at work ;D

well.. the ultrasound yesterday went great :) it IS only one *thank god after everyones twin-talk all the time..* but Alien had a hard time laying still long enough to take a picture.. just like big sister then.. *lol*

driving home from work is still ok :) *yaaay* and I'm not nervous about the long drive down to DoubleWars (we are stopping at my aunt in Halmstad on the way down and up) and I even finished the schedule for the children's activities :)
now I only have the rest of the preparations left ;D

almost finished with Tuva's italian 15th c gown.. well.. the overdress anyway.. she'll be wearing it as a "court girl" on thursday for the first time so Iäm not that nervous.. more about how she's going to like it.. but she seems excited at east :)

no progress with my green dress.. sleeves and body are finished except for the brown stripes.. not started on the skirt yet however.. gets me nervous.. silly I know.. but I am silly! if I don't have all the time I need it will be a green dress without the decorating parts.. and if I do find the time it will be decorated.. easy enough ;P

slosing the reception in 30 minutes and then it is time for "office"-party.. or party with the project manager girls for Kungahälla Medieval days..

right now.. I'm tired from fixing up the conference room into an oriental room (oriental theme at kungahälla this year) and fixing everyones breakfast and running here and there.. they all want to go in to göteborg after our dinner to party.. I live there.. so I go from göteborg.. to kungälv.. to party.. in götebrg.. to then return to kungälv in the middle ofn the night..

    make sence?
